Weather is a deciding factor

Tanzania is located around equatorial region and on the eastern side is sorrounded by Indian Ocean. Its weather normally experience patterns of Equatorial and tropical seasons. Due to the fact behind its weather, Tanzanian weather can be described into two main season, that are dry and wet season. Dry season is sunny and hot while wet season is rainy and cold.

Knowing the Tanzanian weather and each park's weather will help deciding a perfect time to travel.

 

SEASONS

January - March

This is the hottest time of the year. In most of places temeperature rises up to 30-32 C. The vegetations tends to be dry and the sun is always up from morning to evening. Places experience water scarcity and animals tends to move to the places where water can be found. And by this period, this locations are nice spot to see variety os species of animals.

 

 

April - May

long rain season!!

This season expereince long period of rainfalls which may cover whole day or night. The sky tends to be cloudy with little sessions of bright sky. The land tends to be muddy and for soome parks the roads are impossible or difficult to be used for transfers.

The vegetation tends to be green and animals enjoy enough pastures to feed themselves. Tourist number is minimal in this season. Companies and hotel lower their prices to accomodate risk travellers who can take risk to travel.

 

June - September

"High season with winter mornings!!"

Weather tends to be cold in the morning but getting warm as the day becomes brighter. For visitors coming from very cold weathers may enjoy the weather and find it to be more pleasant. A lot of tourists start to travel during this season.

 

October - December

It is warm season of the year, however it is accompanied with short rain periods!. It is a holiday season, so travellers plan to travel for trekking Mt. Kilimanjaro or make safari to spend their holiday time. Parks tends to be crowded also.
